Canyoning In Dalat

On March 14, I had my first Canyoning experience at Datanla Waterfall in Dalat, Vietnam with Viet Challenge Tours.  The experience was absolutely liberating.  There were certain parts in the journey when I felt a bit nervous, mostly during the water sliding and “washing machine” experience.  I no longer care to know what it’s like to be in a washing machine during the rinse cycle, because I had experienced it on that day and it was out of control.  I’m not a great swimmer and thus the feeling of water over powering me has always left me feeling a bit anxious despite the presence of a life vest.  There were times when I wanted to back out, but I knew in the end I would regret not pushing myself towards the goal of conquering my fear.  I hope by the end of this trip I will be able to add “strong swimmer” to my resume…please don’t hold me to it.  LOL

The tour was $45 and it included a delicious lunch and our guides were super friendly and at no time did I feel rushed, even though it took a little longer to jump off of the cliff (7m/22ft high) into a deep lake.  🙂  I’ve created a video highlighting a few of my favorite photos and video clips from the adventure.  Thanks again Viet Challenge for an experience that I will never forget.

I hope you enjoy the video!

Lots of love,

Samiyyah
